Maxfield Baker grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and moved to San Marcos in 2007 to attend Texas State University. After completing a double major in Political Science and Anthropology, and working in human resources for four years, Maxfield attended the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and became a licensed massage therapist in 2017. He has worked with Blooming Day Spa since day one of his massage journey, and uses his years of massage and customer service experience to create a customized client focused session.
Maxfield works with the nervous system to relieve tension/stress, and achieve deep results. Additionally, he focuses on client education after the massage so clients can better understand their body’s and their issues. Maxfield is consistently rated highly in our reviews, and clients especially have enjoyed relief from neck and back pain after working with him.
Massage is for the body, and the brain.
It is important to understand the role our nervous system plays in the tension that our bodies hold and often we find that mental stress is the cause of a physical blockage. As a student of the Lauterstein Deep Method, Maxfield embraces the school of thought that for a massage to be effective, it takes work from both the client and therapist to meet at interface to achieve greater effects. When we engage our physical tension with mindfulness, we better understand its cause and can thus manage its propensity.
